Ukadiche Modak

A traditional offering to Lord Ganesha, Ukadiche Modak are easy and perfect to make through the festive season. Steamed rice flour covering filled with a jaggery coconut mix and steamed; these are super delicious as a snack too!

- Rice Flour - Coconut - Jaggery - Nuts - Spices - Ghee

Main Ingredients

Dry roast shredded coconut and add jaggery.

Cook the mix well and add chopped nuts, cardamom and nutmeg.

Boil water and add salt, then add ghee.

Add in rice flour to the boiling water.

Cook the rice flour on medium flame and turn off the flame.

Knead the rice flour dough and make equal size balls.

Line a modak mold and add in the dough; press evenly.

Add in a ball of the stuffing and press down.

Fold over the rice flour dough and spread evenly.

Place in a greased steaming pan and steam for 14-15 minutes.

Serve topped with some melted ghee.
